Rick Moranis (born April 18, 1954) is a comedian and actor.

He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and first achieved fame as a cast member of the Canadian syndicated comedy show SCTV, where he portrayed, among other characters, "Bob" of Bob & Doug McKenzie fame.

In June of 2004 a rumor began heavily circulating on the internet that Moranis had been killed as the result of a fatal incident involving a train. This proved to be false; apparently a private (if cruel) joke posted on a private web address spiraled out of control and was taken as fact.

Currently Moranis is on the Advisory Committee for the Comedy program at Humber College, the only such diploma program in the world.
